AGRICULTURE OF KHELVACHAURI MUNICIPALITY IN 1921-1990 YEARS

The article deals with the natural and climatic conditions of Khelvachauri Municipality, the main fields of agriculture, forms of production and management. It defines that the territory of the municipality is heterogeneous due to its natural and climatic conditions, which is why agriculture is multi-disciplinary. The leading industry in the coastal zone was tea culture and citrus fruits, in the foothills and mountainous areas – tobacco cultivation, horticulture and fruit growing. The main forms of agricultural production were state farms, collective farms, inter-farm organizations.
The material-technical, production and financial-economic situation of state farms, collective farms, and inter-farm organizations is characterized in the article. It analyses the changes that were implemented in 1921-1990 in the direction of agricultural management. After the collapse of the Soviet Union and the restoration of Georgia's independence, the forms of agricultural production and management that existed under the Soviet government became a part of history.
